The title really does say it all for this article. Microsoft has decided that if your controller just isn’t cutting it for you in games that might be Xbox Exclusive – than why not try it with a mouse and keyboard.
They had this to say about the upcoming change on their website: “we’re enabling mouse and keyboard support on Xbox One for select Xbox Insiders in the coming weeks”. The change will allow developers to adapt their future games to mouse and keyboard settings “if and how they choose”.
However, an important thing to note for any of you that might be getting excited, this new feature isn’t ensured in every upcoming title. Instead, it is up to the developer on whether or not they wish to add it to their titles.
Warframe is the first game that will be featuring the new change, and I am sure that other games will follow suit. That said, to ensure that all your gaming needs are being met, Xbox is teaming up with Razer to make some new hardware for the transition. Though they do promise that most wired or wireless USB keyboards and mice will work on Xbox One.
I personally think the change is a cool one, gamers should be able to use whatever they want to play through their favorite games no matter the system. I just worry for the day that they add keyboard support for Overwatch and my already abysmal SR falls even further.
