Release Date Confirmed For Metal Gear Survive

A new game in the Metal Gear series was teased by Konami not to long ago, and now a confirmation has been made for the upcoming Metal Gear Survive. The game will arrive on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this upcoming February 20th in the US and February 22 in Europe. The release date was confirmed via a twitter post from the official Metal Gear page.

Everyone who bothers to pre-order the game ensures they get a Survival Pack. This pack comes with four different gold plated weapons: the survival machete, bat, sledgehammer, and survival spear. The pack also includes a few accessories such as survival scarves and Kabuki face paint.

Check out the trailer below to get a feel for the upcoming game:

The above game is the first game in the series since Konami and Kojima have parted ways. As you can see from the trailer the game itself seems very…different. The game proceeds right after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and now features what can only be considered zombies. That’s right, zombies, an addition that Kojima himself apparently finds odd. A bright spot in the game though happens to be the cooperative multiplayer that will be made available for the game on all systems.

How the franchise will actually do from here on out remains to be seen.
