Indie Game Transfer: Play as An AI With Amnesia
A new indie game by the name Transfer is out on the market, and it’s an interesting creation by Abyssal Uncreations. The games duration is short, about ten minutes per each playthrough, but holds a unique story. This games storyline forces gamers to take on the role of an AI at the end of the world, and you must figure out not only what happened to the world but also whether you were instrumental in its destruction.
At the very beginning of the game players are given one of ten random backgrounds, though you won’t know which one it is. In the game Humanity has disappeared from the earth, and it’s up to you to figure out what has happened and what you will do with them gone. The crux of the issue lies in the fact that you have lost your memories, thus incapable of recalling how this calamity occurred. You gain back your memories by accessing a command input screen to chat with other AI throughout the world. As you do this, you begin to unlock memories of your past and begin to discover your back story. Maybe you were tricked into killing your masters off, or you just grew sick of the human race and decided to destroy them.
The truth comes out bit by bit in the game, and it is up to you what to do with that truth once you have it. Whether to rebuild or seek redemption. All in all it seems like a pretty quick and fun game to go through, so give it a look in your free time.
You can play Transfer on PC or Mac.
