PSN Maintenance: What Services Will Be Affected
The PlayStation Network will be undergoing a “routine maintenance” this July 25th between 8 AM and 9 AM in your own timezone. Sony has let us know that a few systems will be affected system wide while the maintenance is occuring.
On the PSN’s service status page, Sony has outlined that the PS Vita, PS3, and PS4 will all be hit by the maintenance. It has been stated that you will still be allowed to sign in, play games, and still use “most applications,” however the Playstation Store, Account Management and PlayStation Video will be down and out for the count.
Sony has apologized for the delay in service, stating the following: “We strive to ensure that PlayStation Network services are available at all times, but occasionally we must take PlayStation Network offline to perform essential maintenance and implement feature enhancements. We are working hard to reduce the duration of each maintenance.”
Admittedly I’m a little worried that the update will affect the PSN network more than stated, as Sony has the tendency to sometimes fumble the ball with platform wide changes. But I’m sure it will be fine, mostly.
I hope my PS Plus isn’t accidentally affected and I can still play Overwatch.
