Free Open Beta for VR Game: Echo Arena
Echo Arena, a game that reminds me strongly of Blitzball from Final Fantasy 10, is aiming to be one of the first sports games on the Oculus Rift headset.
The developers over at Ready at Dawn have opened up an open beta for those interested in the game. The game itself is made up of two teams of four, wherein you must float in a giant sphere of sorts and, using your hands as jet boosters, score a Frisbee like object into the opossing teams net.
The arena has objects in your path that you must navigate pass on the way to the net, and the opposing team may punch you to stop your progress. Upon getting punched, a person’s armor locks up and forces them to drop the ball they are carrying.
Echo Arena comes out officially this July 20th on the Oculus Rift, and the game will be free from what I understand. To those of you who have the Oculus rift let us know if the game really does feel like Blitzball.
