Nioh: Update Lets You Pause The Game To Breathe

I’m sure more than a few of you have played Team Ninja’s most recent game: Nioh. The title has gotten some high praise as of late, and some hard comparisons between itself and titles like Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Yet recently it did what neither of those unforgiving monsters ever dreamed to do, something so small that gamers often take it for granted.

It let you pause the game.

Anyone who has played the aforementioned titles, and even Nioh prior to this update, know that this is a big change. As you, until now, had to find yourself a comfortable little spot away from any chances of danger before you could step away for a washroom break or the like. Yet now you can. While admittedly, the patch notes do specify that you still can’t pause in multiplayer mode or when you’ve summoned another individual into your world, this is a stark change for the unforgiving game. To me personally, this means I can wipe my sweaty nervous hands during a big monster fight as oppose to just trudging through.

Or better yet, not ignore the pizza man when he knocks at my door.

The update also features other important features that you can read in the images below, I just thought that was the most interesting one.

Let us know in the comments if you feel like the ability to pause removes from the gameplay for you, or just increases it.
