Mass Effect: Andromeda
System: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Release Date: March 21, 2017
Mass Effect, a game that has been had massive success throughout the years, is coming out with its fourth instalment in its universe. However this version of the game, Mass Effect: Andromeda, is different than its predecessors in the fact that it will be an open world environment. The game, which I’m sure will reach critical numbers during its first week of release, was officially announced on June 15, 2015 and is slotted for release March 21, 2017.
The upcoming game is an action role – playing adventure developed by Bioware. The story taking place in a galaxy far far away (the Andromeda galaxy), wherein which the players begin their intergalactic adventure into the unknown. The third person shooter game starts during the events of Mass Effect 2, but takes places 600 years after the events of the first three Mass effects, allowing players to separate this set of events from the third game in the Mass Effect universe. Players can choose either a male or female sibling, while the other will continue to be featured within the story. Both children are the progeny of Alec Ryder – an N7 special forces soldier – and have both become Pathfinders. An occupation that involves individuals discovering new planets for the Human species to colonize.
A huge difference from the last game lies in the character system – where once players began each game by choosing from six different classes, now we have the ability to build up our character however we want. Allowing for players to build up towards whatever specialization, or over generalization they want. For those of you who worry about choosing an unwanted skill trait, worry not, the game will allow you to reallocate skill points as you see fit – allowing you to experiment with any character class as you see fit.
With a variety of choices to be made that could alter the course of your game, and a cooperative multiplayer accessible to gamers – this game is likely something to look forward to in the upcoming year.
